Jim,

Re: "I am talking about the ramp from 300 to 475 that YOU said would never happen."

Sorry Jimmy ... You have this wrong. Here is what I said in regards to
AMD 350mhz thru 450mhz on .25um. I believe that I was very accurate. -->

"Bob,

Re: "AMD claims they will have 350MHz in Q3 and 400MHz in Q4. Do you think
they will do this on the current process?"

It could be possible to get 350mhz parts out of the existing process ... but
the control could be an issue. I would recommend that AMD develop a Rev2
device/FET that would use the existing interconnect from the .25um process.
This would be the sure way to get to 350mhz, 400mhz or 450mhz. This could
be developed in Santa Clara, but I would prefer to see this developed at the
manufacturing site (Austin). This is the only way for AMD to get "back in
the game".

It turns out that AMD DID have process margin issues at 400mhz and 450mhz.
I was "right on" the money ... Speaking of money, people that listened to me
made much more than those who listened to your HYPE. Also Jimmy, please not
that I posted this back on July 12th ('98).

Make It So,
