Dave,
I appreciate your opinion and your background, but our office is the leading (in terms of numbers) prescriber in the midwest of several current pain medications and we were the largest prescriber of Celebrex in the Chicago area for the first month that it was out( due to our large patient load). It is a good drug, but we have had a significant number of people with GI and other undesirable side effects. The incidence of endoscopy demonstrated gastric ulceration is about half that of more common NSAIDS like naproxen and similar to Relafen. If Vioxx is a better drug with fewer of these weird reactions that we've seen then it will surpass Celebrex. PM me for more discussion.
