The answer to your question:

It is possible. You would have to ax them. A quick look at their disclaimer might provide a clue. I personally am extremely interested in their intent, but I doubt if I will be finding out very soon.

Why not assume that the material in the Press Release was copyrighted by the author(s) of the material, and go from there? That might be a more logical way to go about trying to deduce a "motive".

(No, I don't know who the author(s) are.)

In light of the article posted below, could part of the premise in suing you, Bill and Jeff be that the company itself (WebNode) was fake?

I think that may actually be part of their "logic", though to me it seems rather twisted reasoning. I also wonder whether they may think we actually are a company of some sort; just not the company the WebNode site proclaims us to be. They don't appear to have made much of an effort to find out anything about us.
