i have watched dell's up and down for quite a while(2 years ?). this is not the dell i saw before: when the market melted down, dell was the last one to fall and the market came back dell was the first one to rebound. however, this time is quite different as probably witnessed by lots of people on this board: it is the first one to fall and fall hard, yet it is the last one to rebound and rebound a little (take a look at dell's chart, you will find this). dell's top in this round was just 45 3/4, far below its last top which was 49 3/4 or around. hence, i question the reboundability of dell in next round. as for big guys play small guys, that's just classical. think about when big guys unload stocks to take profits, who is gona be the buyer? another big guy? definitely not. yes, you got it. it's small guys like us on this board. why ? because we small guys usually are the last one to smell the bull and the last one to smell the bear from the market. hence, when market melts down, we small guys always sell late and of course sell shares to big guys and when market comes back, we small guys always buy late and of course buy shares from big guys, otherwise, how could they buy low and sell high to make money ? it's very difficult to time this market, esp. when we small guys usually are the last one to know news and to feel the sentiment of market. in other words, if you think you are smart and trade stocks, mostly you could be the victims of market games. Buy and hold is the king ! d.
