LK, I'm sure you've done an exhaustive study on Quantum and the planned tracking stock. What do you think?

Looks like we could still see a little slide in QNTM, but at some point, if this tracking stock is a success, it will be either a great buy or a non-event.

At the same time, Quantum and many others have been pounding the table to get people to realize the dynamic of the tape business and nobodies interested. The negative weight of the HDD business has been too great, and in reality we've seen quarter after quarter where earnings have been very unimpressive.

So, how to view this coming event? Is buying the tape tracking stock going to eliminate the negative impact of HDD? Can they make a wall to protect shareholder value from HDD losses?

PS If the market rose yesterday on comments from WDC, they certainly realized how silly that was today. On the other hand, did Quantum spook the market?
