I'm pretty sure that true hard core math teachers have their chalk drawing arm dislocated at some point in their studies. Had a calculus teacher that could whoop out 3 foot diameter circles like it was nothing, and his arm would always bend some very unnatural ways in the process. It probably also allows them to do some special math dude hand shake that mere mortals are incapable of, but that's just a theory.
