Michael, Steve:

TXCC

"TranSwitched and Turned On
A 16% drop in his company's stock price since April 6 doesn't faze Mike Stauff, CFO of communications chipmaker TranSwitch (TXCC:Nasdaq). "The visibility has never been better," he told TheStreet.com in the hallway before his presentation.

TranSwitch makes chips for telecommunications networks. It's a booming market with long product life cycles. If TranSwitch gets its chips today into a new telecom product, it will ensure itself revenue for at least five years, Stauff said.

Since last autumn, TranSwitch has been one of the fast-growing semiconductor stocks. And even with the recent drop, a closing price of 41 7/8 is still a 150% increase over seven months.

Not only is the overall market for TranSwitch's products growing, but companies such as Lucent (LU:NYSE) that used to make their own chips are contracting out the work. Two years ago, TranSwitch did no business with Lucent. But last year Lucent sales accounted for 5% of revenue. In the first quarter of this year, that portion went up to 10%, helping to boost total revenue in the quarter 68% year over year.

"We have established ourselves as the market leader," Stauff said. "We are in the market where the action is.""

Hi all,
VTSS is starting to look very attractive again. Today might be the buy in for me, just now logging on and checking things out. I also agree with you and doc on TXCC. A good one for the long haul. I've got to look into SEBL and MERQ, maybe this weekend.

I see a few analysts have come out and downgraded the oil sector. Looks like they have been on the wrong side and are trying to slow the train down. Oil over $18 keeps me on the bull side but after huge moves like yesterday I would agree that now is probably not the time to start major new positions except for some of the small cheap companies that will be in the last tier to get going with the patch rebound. These are relatively dead money anyway so no big need to get some immediately but I think a few dollars should find there way into the long shots. a last thought for now, one must follow the movements of SLB to gauge how the big boys are viewing the patch, IMO. It has worked very well for me.

Don't have time for more, see y'all later.....good luck, Michael
