Nearly an identical scenario happened to me yesterday on Action Direct- I called in to complain, but as a rookie I was easily swamped with the fast 'broker' talk- next time I'll be more insistent. These Can brokers seem so arrogant- we need a few more experienced US firms to cause a wake -up call - like as happened with Walmart, Home Depot etc etc - sad but true and necessary.

Re#3011: Market orders are just plain bad news. Try to avoid getting into a situation where you feel you have to use one but if you do have to use it, you did the right thing. Fight the thieves.

Re#3011: Actually stories like that should be reported to the OSC. Anyone have contact information where brokers can be reported? If enough of us starting yelling about this stuff to the proper authorities it may do some good.
