If I'm going to buy a company with an internet presence, it's much more likely to be Cisco or Wal-Mart or Intel or Dell or even Microsoft. When the internuts crash, these guys won't be immune, but at least the downside risk has a somewhat predictable bottom. Telecommunications and cable industry plays on the internet are also something else to look at after the big bang. And then too, there will be the inevitable consolidations among the survivors...
