That's good news if they recover the satellite. All the programming has switched over to SatMex V for now. There is communication between sat and ground as far as telemetry, but no broadcast signal. I'd love to see it back online---just seems a bit odd.

From our satellite source, Valueman: "Solidaridad 1 strayed out of its 300 mile figure 8 configuration (this GEO, like others, has a path that it strays due to gravity and other pulls). It appears to be a programming issue only to rectify the path error, which has happened once before with this Hughes GEO.

Un-freaking believable. I worked on this software and warned of exactly this problem. You've got good sources.
