More wild speculation follows:
IMO, it would be preferable if "T" had less than 50% of the voting rights. I figure that the other cable companies would have a better feeling of partnership that way. In the future, we need some more mergers to water down the "T" control. "T" may also recognize this and could trade some of their ownership away. While I don't think ATHM needs RR, I do think a ATHM/RR merger would be good. This could bring in the current owners of RR (Time Warner, MSFT, CPQ,UGM, ??) as additional ATHM owners. "T" may also trade ownership to obtain rights to operate local phone service over various cable systems that it does not own or already have deals with.
