An Addendum : Don't you think having comparable reporting methods would greatly benefit investors ?? Would not having companies use the same accounting methods allow investors to make better informed investment decisions on relative valuations of various companies ?? The method used by BII(loss on cost of sales to A&P) is the apparent reason for the current downgrade to a sell with a target of a couple bucks . I'm not suggesting BII will or has to restate. I'm only curious how you or others think it would effect price one way or the other if they did?? Do you think they will employ this method in 1st.qtr. 99 as well ?? Apparently they only made the change(reporting loss on cost of sales to advertising & promo) for 98 yr.end and not previous qtrs. ..
