John, So much for the up day on Amazon. <g> Perhaps there are one or two people who know how to do arithmetic out there.

I have never had a situation where I couldn't sell a put, but I have had some where I didn't want to. Sometimes when a stock is falling fast, the put premiums don't keep up immediately. In that case, I simply put the stock into the seller's account and buy the stock on the open market to cover the short. No problem.

There have been situations of stocks where trading has stopped, but officials are very aware of option expiration dates.
