Jimbo - Re: " If it's not going to sell, SSE isn't going
to help."

Pentium III is already selling like AMD HOTCAKES .

Just read what Gateway had to say:

http://biz.yahoo.com/bw/990422/sd_gateway_1.html

Gateway Reports Strong First Quarter Results, Posts Robust U.S. Consumer Growth Three Times Industry Rate

Desktop unit growth was up 42% versus first quarter last year, with revenues up 23%. Portable unit volume was up 47% over the same period last year, with revenues up 23%. The company successfully launched Intel's new Pentium III chip late in the first quarter and exited the quarter with PIII representing 25% of U.S. desktop shipments.

McPannic - Re: " It's a crummy program. This is probably the case with many of the other SSE apps you listed."

I see all those REAL Pentium III OPTIMIZED SSE PROGRAMS have made you real nervous Jimmybo.

You dismissed them all - AutoCAD, Real Networks, Parametrics Technology, SolidWorks, Dassault CATIA, etc.

These are all top-line Workstation products Jimmybo - not some Alien Mutant Blasters that push Games into the teenager swamps of poor boy's "computing".
