Its a catch-22 for minorities. If they try to succeed, they are labeled as "oreo cookies," and considered not "black enough." It's strange that a black athlete like Jordan can be admired, but someone like Clarence Thomas is not. Both are quite intelligent men, educated and successful. One in athletics and business, the other in Law. I hesitate to suggest that it may be the dichotomy of "hands and minds" where athletics is percieved as "low" and academics "middle" class. Is Jordan "black enough" and Justice Thomas isnt?
