Saddam was left on purpose or don't you understand ? Leaving a petty little defiant yet powerless dictator gives the U.S. a reason to keep significant military presence in the gulf as well as "live" practice areas for the troops.

; it's true

I, too, am rooting for the Russians to help bring all sides back to the negotiating table. But then on the other hand, once a brush fire is started, it is sometimes better to totally quench it out than to leave it smoldering where it could ignite again someday.

And therein is my dichotomy. There are not too many people with more kindness in them than I possess...heck little kids and all animals just ADORE me....but yet....logic sometimes gets in the way of my emotions and I sometimes sit in Olympian judgement on events around me and speak with logic what I might not necessarily feel inside.

And on that note, I had better say good-night. I gotta get up in about 3 hours. Take care all.
