Michael, if you want a painless suicide, I'd advise you to forget the lye and get a gun. Since you're so good at figuring, what do you get when you divide 82 by 130 million, and what do you get when you divide 39,595 by 300 million?

Great Post! Spouting statistics without context is a waste. Exactly! As I said to Daniel in a previous post almost half of the 39k gun deaths are suicides. The figure he states includes ALL gun deaths, including those inflicted by the police, citizens protecting themselves from criminals, and accidents. Simple logic dictates if a lot of guns meant more violent acts committed with guns then we would have seen what's happening now in much greater numbers over the last 200+ years. But no, what we see now is a relatively new phenomenon coinciding with the revisionist relative moralism and values demonization imposed by the left over the last 30 or so years. halfscot
