HOT NEWS

***** Ashton's Latest on Alberta Kimberlites

Ashton Mining of Canada Inc. (ACA:TSE,ME) released results of
microdiamond analyses of samples from four kimberlites discovered
during the winter program of drilling on the Buffalo Hills and joint
venture lands project in north-central Alberta. Ashton is the operator
and holds a 45% interest while JV partner Alberta Energy
(AEC:TSE;AOG:NYSE) holds 45% and Pure Gold (PUG:TSE) holds the
remaining 10%. A single vertical core hole was drilled on each of four
kimberlites.

Kimberlite Laboratory Sample Number of Number of
Weight Diamonds Diamonds
(kg) less than greater than
0.5 mm 0.5 mm

BH-225 AMC 58.8 45 4
AML 37.6 22 1
96.4 67 5
BH-155 AMC 137.2 28 0
AML 137.8 4 0
275.0 32 0
BH-230 AMC 87.6 0 0
AML 88.8 1 0
176.4 1 0
LL-7 AMC 26.2 0 0
26.2 0 0

The largest stones came from sample BH-155 and included one measuring
1.4 x 0.6 x 0.5 mm and 1.1 x 0.6 x 0.6 mm. Laboratories include the
company's lab in North Vancouver (AMC) and in Perth, Australia (AML).

Three of the four kimberlites are diamondiferous, with BH-225
returning a higher count of greater interest. BH-225 is indicated by a
magnetic anomaly measuring approximately 125 by 100 m. It is near
kimberlite K-14, and was discovered under 30 m of overburden.

Kimberlite BH-155 is south of K-14, and is indicated by a magnetic
anomaly measuring 150 by 100 m. It was discovered under 34 m of
overburden. The microdiamond content, although less than that of
BH-225, is of interest to Ashton and additional work is being
contemplated.

Results are still pending from kimberlites BH-229 and BM-16, also
discovered during the 1999 winter program. Limited amounts of material
were recovered from these two kimberlites. Ashton says that upon
completion of detailed logging, a small quantity from each will be
processed for microdiamond content.

NORTH AMERICA

***** Polymet Deciphers Extraction Puzzle for NorthMet

PolyMet Mining Corp. (POM:VSE) reports that testing by Lakefield
Research Laboratories has shown that pressure oxidation can be used
successfully as a metallurgical process for treating its NorthMet
ores. Final results of the testing showed a high recovery rate of
metals from bulk concentrate produced from NorthMet, which is located
in Minnesota.

All metal recoveries, except for silver, were dramatically better than
those used in an internal scoping study and cost analysis performed by
PolyMet's metallurgical team before the metallurgical tests began.

All steps in the evaluation process were tested at Lakefield. The
process consisted of pressure oxidation leaching of the bulk
concentrate at 2200C and 100 pounds per square inch oxygen
overpressure. Precious metals were recovered from the products of
leaching. The copper was then recovered as high-quality copper cathode
by solvent extraction and electrowinning (SX/EW). Nickel cathode and
cobalt carbonate were also recovered using solvent extraction --
electrowinning.

Based on the Lakefield test results, the following metal recoveries
from the bulk concentrate stood at 97.5% for copper, 92.5% for cobalt and nickel and 94% for gold, platinum and palladium.

Test results also indicated the recovery of high-value rhodium and
ruthenium. Polymet says further testing will continue at Lakefield in
the near term to further optimize the process and flow sheet.

The program to test biological leaching is nearing completion at
BacTech Laboratories. When the bio-leach work is completed, the costs
of both processes will be analyzed and compared. PolyMet expects to
choose a final metallurgical process in June.

LATIN AMERICA

***** Hit and Miss for Medinah at Alto de Lipangue

Medinah Energy (MDIN:OTC BB) claims that six diamond drill holes
completed at Alto de Lipangue in Chile have confirmed a major
gold/copper hydrothermal system hosting high-grade, bulk tonnage ore.

The diamond drill holes to date show that Altode Lipangue is at least
100 x 100 m, open in all directions and depth. The latest results, say
Medinah, have attracted the attention of several major international
mining companies who are conducting on-site examinations.

Drill results include:

DDH 99-01 - drilled vertically to 70 m to test a small geological IP
target outside and west of a larger IP anomaly. This target proved to
be a pyrite halo zone in andesite rock. Anomalous gold values were
returned in assays.

DDH 99-02 - drilled vertically, to 250 m approximately 200 m east of
DDH 99-01, on the edge of a large IP anomaly. This hole intersected
the flank of a granodiorite intrusive, the target rock, and continued
in granodiorite to the depth of the hole. At a depth of 100 m,
sulfide mineralisation includes pyrite, molybdenite andchalcopyrite.
Assays confirm the presence of copper and gold in low, but
significant, values over a continuous thickness of approximately 140
m.

DDH 99-03 - drilled vertically to 297.5 m, approximately 250 m
southwest of DDH 99-02, at the centre of the large anomaly. Continuous
breccia, silicification and mineralization including massive pyrite
and chalcopyrite were observed from a depth of 91 m to the bottom of
the hole at 297.5 m. Gold grades of 1.13 g/t were returned from a 147
m section including a high of 3.71 g/t over 11 m.

DDH 99-04 - drilled 115 m northeast of DDH 99-03 at an angle of -60%
and was abandoned due to mechanical problems caused by broken ground,
faulting and fracturing that resulted in the loss of four drill bits.
The hole was abandoned at 210 m. Assays confirm the presence of copper
and gold in low, but significant values over a core length of
approximately 182 m.

DDH 99-05 - drilled vertically to 348 m, 25 m southwest of DDH 99-03.
Significant gold/copper mineralisation was encountered from 103 to 288
m. Values here were 0.74 g/t gold over 185 m and one rich 6 m section
grading 11.68 g/t gold and 1.41% copper.

DDH 99-06 - drilled vertically to 293 m, 25 m north of DDH 99-03.
Continuous breccia, silicification and chalcopyrite mineralisation was
observed from a depth of 38 to 189 m. A 166 m section contained 0.61
g/t gold and 0.38% copper and included a 39 m section with 32.56 g/t
silver.

All assay work is contracted to the North American lab, Acme
Analytical.

Future work includes more drilling at Alto de Lipangue to test the
continuity along strike.

***** Brenda's Bulk Sample

Gammon Lake Resources Inc. (GAML:CDN) has received the results of a
571.9 ton bulk sample extracted from the Brenda mine claims located at
Ocampo in Chihuahua, Mexico. The head grade was 6.4 grams per ton
(g/t) of gold and 204 g/t silver as fire assayed by the Brenda Mine
Lab, the Ocampo project's on site facility. Using a factor of 1.8
grams of gold as being equivalent to 100 grams of silver the head
grade is equivalent to 10.1 g/t gold.

The ore was obtained from a width of 2 to 6 metres at the 42 metre
level with all material delivered to the floatation mill to obtain a
true average grade. The mill concentrated 85.8% of the gold and 75.6%
of the silver for a shipment to the Minera Penoles smelter, an arm's
length facility. Initial tests indicated cyanide leaching may recover
more gold and silver than the current flotation method.

The Brenda mine claims have had underground work to the 60 m level
resulting in the identification of the Jesus Maria, Veta Tierra,
Balvanera, San Amado and La Zorra structures.

Well I guess I won't be invited to the party either.
Sold my last measly 5k today.

Must admit, the 43 meters at 4.7 looked good on first glance, but if you subtract the extraordinary 4 meter highgrade, the other 39 meters averaged less than a gram.

They seem to keep hitting nothing but narrow highgrade intersections which aren't worth underground mining and certainly aren't worth removing zillions of tonnes of overburden to get at.

Nice little promotion though!

Back to the welfare office for me.

The results are OK!..................

But not as "Great" as the one's on this thread seem to think and I hope you understand that much more proving up has to be done before the word "MINE can be used legitimately.

Let me know where the party is, I will buy and register 500 shares just to be there.

"BULLY"!
