my concern with this potentially under reporting of EC is not inflation but deflation and the wealth effect.

We estimated, on this thread yesterday, that DOT is capped at just below $500 billion, not mentioning many internuts which are not in the DOT index. We can probably safely assume that these stocks must have doubled, to say the least, in the last 12 months. What if these stocks drop in half? $200 some billion is in the range of mutual fund inflow for an entire year.

I find the possibility of a reversed wealth effect led recession too high for comfort.
