I am a DT, but not in equities. But that is why I boast my opinion as such. My agenda for stock investing has always been to build a long-term growth portfolio, and take 'punts' in issues to make a few quick $$$, to re-invest and bolster the core holdings. I will always admit this but I will also admit that I am probably more flexible than most investors. In this type of environment, you have to remain flexible. IMO to 'buy and hold' is not the winning strategy anymore. With a little DD and a keen perception of the market, the modern-day investor can take advantage of volatility and create an even more profitable investment.
