Technology News 3Com's Chief Information Officer Resigns (04/28/99, 7:49 p.m. ET) By Kimberly Caisse, Computer Reseller News The chief information officer of 3Com resigned last week to take a job at Vantage Technologies, 3Com confirmed on Wednesday. While at 3Com for nearly four years, CIO Tom Thomas was responsible for all aspects of 3Com's information systems and technology. He led 3Com's Global Information System organization to provide a common global infrastructure and core applications. His goal was to make applications available to 3Com employees from anywhere and at any time, 3Com said. Prior to joining 3Com, Thomas served as CIO at Dell Computer. Vantage is a knowledge- and document-management vendor located in Yardley, Pa. The vendor could not be reached for comment.
