CYGS Expands Scope of In Vivo Studies of ssDNA Expression Vector
HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 30, 1999--Cryogenic Solutions Inc. (OTC BB:CYGS) has posted on its website Requests for Proposals for investigators to conduct in vitro and in vivo studies of its proprietary single stranded DNA Expression Vector. The in vivo studies are intended to further demonstrate the ability of the vector to express any selected oligonucleotide sequence to targeted cell types in living animals in quantities sufficient for therapeutic results. The ability to deliver intact oligos in vivo has the potential to overcome the ''delivery barrier'' that has stymied researchers in the effort to progress from the laboratory to the clinic with effective antisense gene therapies.

A retroviral version of the vector has been delivered to the Southwest Foundation for Biological Research in San Antonio, Texas. This series of experiments will culminate in primate studies focusing on Simian Immunodeficiency Virus (SIV) which is the monkey version of HIV. Animal studies are the last phase of the laboratory experiments required before human trials can be designed.

These proposed in vivo and in vitro studies are in addition to the beta tests currently underway at various medical research facilities. The list of beta test participants is updated weekly on the website, cygs.net.
