You might be wrong on the call but you are right in buying, just don't blow the whole wad at once. I have notice DCLK and EBAY have started to recover here, they started this sell-off going, while AMZN has fueled the fire. AOL and ATHM are in market and UCM jail. Until the UMC deal is clear, AOL and ATHM will be weak. I almost think it would be in both stocks best interest, if UMC went to T. AOL does not need to be have the physical plant to provide broadband. Deals, investments, not owning, is the way to go for AOL. I have bought at PCLN at 119 for nice trade, I see it going ten points from here. Also, NITE is mighty strong. The one stock that I'm most impressed with is QCOM, very strong and holding tight, which by the way has a market cap less get this PCLN, now if that isn't out of wack, I don't know what is.

You have a good-day.

Greg

V,
Doing my part to support the cause. Pulled the trigger again this a.m. (a little before the downdraft), but was ahead at the close. Hated to pay up this high as my basis was $25, but when the blue light is flashing, you gotta pay to play. Good Luck.

Your thoughts? Maybe concerning AOL . . . . .

RealNetworks plans major announcements
By Bloomberg News
Special to CNET News.com
April 28, 1999, 6:25 p.m. PT
SEATTLE--RealNetworks said that it and a variety of partners will make a "significant series" of announcements on Monday.
RealNetworks chairman Rob Glaser and other executives will host the news conference. A RealNetworks spokeswoman declined to give details.
The streaming media company is facing growing competition from Microsoft, which today announced the creation of a streaming media division and earlier this month pushed into online music. Two weeks ago RealNetworks agreed to acquire closely held Xing Technology to expand its online-music activities.
RealNetworks has about 85 percent of the streaming media market, while Microsoft has about 10 percent.
The worldwide streaming-media market could soar to $60 billion in 2003 from $12.6 billion last year, said Christine Perey of Perey Research and Consulting. Video conferencing has accounted for much of the market to date, while entertainment and communications are expected to drive future growth, she said.
Shares of RealNetworks rose 2.88 to 184 in trading today, while Microsoft fell 1.88 to 82.13.

Voltaire.

Keep your chin up bud- when cyclical industrial market bellwethers like John D. start taking a dump who knows which way AOL is going to go?? VBG+LOL

Glad I loaded back up with some more AOL yesterday (and hung onto my Dell position). My biggest problem is that I get acting like a trader when my best performance is done staying on the sidelines and pouncing on hot opportunities.... live & learn- from late last year, I'd still be ~$120K poorer just with my day job.

Best,

Orlando

p.s. Bloomberg WebTV reporting pre-market strength in Internet, Oil, and Insurance segments today- Rock'n Roll ! .. better get back to some real work.
