Chang,

I think that Lexar has expertise in the controller arena. I believe that SNDK will utilize SSTI's microcontroller technology and also achieve better write speeds with internal buffer memory in the camera itself and improvements in firmware on the CF card as Eli has pointed out. Again, the write performance issue has been a bit exaggerated, IMHO.

I don't believe that Lexar has any expertise in flash memory itself and buys chip sets from other suppliers. SNDK's fabless structure and nimble management of inventory will lead to excellent cost control as volume shipments increase. In the end, SNDK will be one of the lowest cost producers of CF and MMC and will also enjoy IP revenue to fund operations, R&D and the like.

Lexar will feel the pain in a big way shortly, IMHO.

Keep the faith. Still holding my breath waiting for a settlement announcement.
