Highlights from Conference Call- Dave Dunlap indicated that April sales were at record levels. Deals that were expected to close in 1st quarter are now closing. Sales to Compaq for April are approaching the 1st quarter total. We can expect announcement of another OEM rleationship during 2nd quarter which will "benefit 2nd and future quarters." In Data Collection, Dave indicated that there are a large number of "pending corporate purchases." Several hundred thousand dollars worth of corporate purchases have either closed in April or are in final stages of closing. He also indicated announcement of a "major new strategic relationship" during the 2nd quarter. In Wireless, the digital mobile phone connection kit will launch in Canada during 2nd quarter (Bell Mobility). Launch in the U.S. (Sprint, I believe) is planned for the summer. Overall, it sounds like second quarter should give us the long-awaited top-line growth and move us toward profitability. Data collection products are starting to ramp. The phone connection kits will soon be introduced in Canada and could give us a real boost by summer. Use your imagination if Sprint launches in the summer.
