Rudedog,<< There was a suggestion in early April that EP might offer Heil up as a "sacrificial lamb" - someone to hold accountable for the 1Q problems>> If this is true, it certainly would have been prudent of him to "dust off his resume",(which he obviously did) but it doesn't make it clear that Rosen asked him to leave. It seems that he already planned on leaving before Rosen took over.

I may be wrong, and in the long run it probably doesn't matter, I just want to watch what actions Rosen takes directly, and which ones were already in the works when he took over.

This is she_x reaction to the Heil news. Also some insight into lay-offs, merger efficiencies, cost-cutting and other measures going on now.

this could very well be a step in the right direction. marketing has been one of the areas needing a fresher approach. i'll take this as good news. not that i think heil was that bad, i just think this is a good time for change.

as for lay-offs in houston. they have been going on all along. usually every friday. the numbers have been small enough not to be news worthy but are going on regularly for quite a while. last friday they let a guy go that's been there for 15 yrs. it's sad.

i've heard a lot of grousing about HR lately. some new changes for trying to hire new employees in your group are next to impossible. on cost-cutting, they used to have free sodas, took that away. used to have free coffee, took that away. employees now fear they will have to start bringing their own toilet paper from home.

rosen has sent out surveys to employees for their opinion of how the acquisitions are going. hope they are all brutally honest with their assessments and it helps focus where some of the problems are. rosen has really moved to open up the communication lines again and this is a very positive move IMO. she
