To all here who remember the long hours our "Owl" devoted to helping get all MTEI material to the SEC. Our Owl is now going to Macedonia to donate his time to Kosovar refugees. Any help at all will make it a bit easier on him and provide a bit to someone there in BAD need of help. Hopefully, all explained in the following letter being sent out to some subscribers to stockpicks newsletters.
O/T - Kosovar refugee relief:

If you have considered helping but wanted to know exactly what would be
done with your donation, you might consider our project:

Dear _____,

Thank you for agreeing to send our plea out to your list, many of whom
we know.

Like so many people, Dana and I wanted to do something to help the
victims of this terrible crisis, but we wanted to be certain that our
donation was being used in the most effective way possible. From that
desire and Dana's (Dana posts as ~Owl and Owlbrit) determination to go
over and donate physical labor to the people, we formulated our goal of
collecting cash and material aid and sending it with Dana. Then when
Astrotwo (Bobbye) put us in touch with a church in Huntsville which
would sponsor us, we discovered that we could collect enough to send two
volunteers, a MUCH safer plan. Then we found Dusty. In summary, this
is our plan:

1. To cover the costs of having two volunteers fly to Skopje and take
donated cash and materials to deliver to the Mother Theresa
organization, which is working with a Skopje television station, TVERA,
to ease the suffering in the refugee camps in Macedonia. Our first
volunteer, Dana Moore, is a 50-year old graphics artist from Birmingham,
Alabama, with skills and experience in all forms of construction and
automotive repair. Dana's leadership skills have recently been
appreciated by all of us who were hurt in the MTEI scam, which is now
securely in the hands of the SEC, thanks in large parts to Dana's
efforts.

Our second volunteer is Dusty (Greg ) Rhodes of southern Illinois.
Dusty is 53 years old, has served in the military, and has spent much of
his life covering the globe. This will be his
second trip to Macedonia. Dana will donate his labor for whatever is
needed for two weeks. Dusty hopes to remain after the two weeks and
sign on with one of the relief agencies. He feels he can get material
aid from Thailand and Greece into Macedonia for some time.

In addition to the flight costs, the two men will need cash for food and
transportation within Macedonia. Their lodging is being provided
through the Mother Theresa organization.

2. To purchase and deliver a number of "space blankets" to the camps.
Dana has found a source for these blankets at $1.99 each, whereas they
sell in the army-navy surplus stores for $4.00. They weigh only 2
ounces each and fold into a package the size of a man's wallet. Each
keeps one person warm AND dry, as they are water repellent.

3. To deliver cash donations to Mother Theresa for items which are
found to be cheaper in Macedonia than here. Our latest letter (today)
says that basic foodstuffs, sugar and flour, are needed. We are also
looking into protein bars, probably an ideal food source. We will still
have to find out for certain that the food is obtainable in Macedonia at
good prices.

4. If we deliver cash instead of items, this will leave the allowed
baggage free to carry donated items, but we have not yet determined the
best choice there. We will get a better idea in the next day or so. I
should think that antibacterial cream would be badly needed, as well as
soap.

5. We are just, as of today, looking into the possibility of being able
to bring maybe two or three refugees back with Dana.

We will be guided into this by the relief workers of the Mother Theresa
organization, by television station TVERA, and also by Anthony Elgindy,
who returned yesterday with two refugees himself. He obtained the first
28 visas for Albanian Kosovars to enter the United States and today
will be testifying before Congress as to his experiences in both Albania
and Macedonia and what kind of aid the U.S. might provide. Anthony will
return to San Diego on Friday, and we hope to be in touch with him this
weekend. I am also getting guidance on items needed from Fane Lozeman,
who just returned from Skopje and worked with Anthony on getting the
refugees to the U.S..

These efforts are being sponsored by "The Light of Christ Center" in
Huntsville, Alabama. Donations should be made out to the center with
"Kosovar Refugee aid" at the bottom of the checks. The contributions
are tax-deductible. The church's address is:

Peggy Shanahan, for
The Light of Christ Center
1402 Evangel Dr.
Huntsville, Alabama 35816

Good luck on this. We find we are suddenly being blessed with having
pieces fall into place. Anyone wanting more information or wanting to
volunteer any time to our endless need for information gathering can
contact us (We call ourselves the "Helpers", a name suggested by my
7-year old) at

K_refugees@hotmail.com

And thank you, immensely,
Lisa

Actually,

in reference to the previous post, if someone will send me the email addresses for Jack, JC, and Joe, etc., I'll send them a request for help, reminding them that Owl's cash is all tied up in MTEI.
