You may need to call Gartner Group for a definition of total cost of ownership. Up front cost is only one term in this sum. Sun people surely appreciate your advice and cannot disagree with you on principle. Sun always tries to provide a total value package and cutting acquisition cost is one of the ways to enhance the total value. Sun aims to serve customers from any sources - new, existing and defectees from other vendors. Please send them to Sun if you are in a position to do so. Sun will not disappoint your clients and therefore will enhance your own value to them. Big thanks!

Get out. Really?
You mean people can't be productive without those wizards and wallpaper-menu-bars with eighty command icons?
If I wanted to drive a Yugo or an Escort, I'd buy one. But the driving's a lot better in a Mercedes. And if I had the patience of Moses/Job, I'd wait on MS to drive me where I wanna go.But I like to get on with my own tasks, like most intelligent people who don't want to put up with Microsoft.
There are several good alternatives to your corporate hegemony. I'm just glad to see someone finally kicking MS-butt in the business world.
