B.K. Interesting post about reservations systems. Hmmmm. All was not as rosy as it originally seemed. Not at all surprising to us IT veterans. You write <There is simply too much concentration on 1/1/2000>. I agree. I think that we will get a Relief Rally in early January fueled by those who do not understand the many ways in which computers go astray. Even Microsoft's web site notes that a Y2K problem which actually crashes a system is a good sort of problem to have.....relatively speaking. I think that the real mess will be apparent in the spring of 2000. And it won't be easy to remedy, because we'll have a few months of unreliable data by that point. Enjoy the sailing. Perhaps you'll be lucky and get stuck down there! Christine
