Quoting scripture is meaningful only if ones believes that scripture.

As an example, there are many Taoists who believe in many Gods, not just one. There are many Native Americans who have a very different form of spirituality than you. they believe just as fervently as you do, that they are right and the true path to God(s).

Quoting scripture has no meaning to them, as their quoting their written beliefs as some sort of proof would have the same effect on you.
