Jason, why the last minute rush job? Were they working on some last minute changes to prevent them from a longer notice, or is this the same deal that was announced months ago?

thanks,
ST

Greg Ballards' statement reminds me of the time when I was circling over Chicago for about an hour or two not able to land when the pilot came on the PA and said "... and don't worry folks, we anticipated the snow situation and have plenty of extra fuel." Sitting there in my 3rd class coach (a.k.a. small investor) seat hearing those "reassuring" words got me to wondering whether the pilot might not have added "... and I have a parachute strapped to my back and you don't".

Press release questions.

Jason, there is something that I was hoping you could clarify.

Reviewing the publically accessable figures over at PCData regarding videocard sales for the month of April ( pcdata.com ), it shows the V3 2000 capturing the top two spots in the poll, the V2 1000 capturing the fifth spot and V3 3000 is not even listed. Yet in the press release that was released today ( biz.yahoo.com ) the release still contends:

"According to research firm PC Data, the 3dfx Voodoo3 3000 and 2000 are the hottest selling video cards in retail stores throughout North America. Three versions of the Voodoo3 3000 and 2000 have captured the top three spots in research firm PC Data's tally of best-selling video cards.

Is this information from the report that can be purchased from PCData or from their web site, and which is correct? After reviewing the releases it looks as though that the initial press release on May 10th regarding the video card sales was using preliminary figures from 3 weeks of April, was the inclusion of the fourth week responsible for this change?? I have a hard time believing that the V3 3000 which was number 1 as per the May 10th release has disappeared from the chart.

If the numbers are incorrect on PCData's web site, you may want to have someone contact them to correct it, if not then you may want to talk to the PR person for future releases. Either way, I would appreciate if you help to clarify this issue.

Thanks for your time.
