Hey, lets vote for our favorite public company and our favorite private COMPANIES redherring.com "Not a job I would want Each year the Red Herring magazine editors put out a special issue in which they pick the top 100 companies in the business -- the top 50 public and top 50 private firms that are doing the most to build the electronic economy. Talk about a thankless task! Think of all the cool companies you'd have to exclude. Think of all the companies that will go belly-up, making you look bad. It's much easier to sit here with a daily column and take potshots at the industry. And pick personal favorites, like AT&T for public company. I'll tell you my favorite private company on May 17, when the story launches on our Web site. Got favorites of your own?
