Unfortunately, in too many places that means that natural habitat is essentially managed for hunters (and deer) instead of for a more natural balance. Just as most of the federal rangeland is managed for ranchers, and federal timberlands are managed for timber companies, the forest service always managing to "sell" timber at a net loss. Conservatives tend not to complain much about that kind of thing, though. "Wise Use", you know about those guys?
