I GHz K7 is exciting, but I think IBM use of the 475 MHz K62 in their business machine is a big news.

The march into the business machine and notebooks is continuing. I like to see Gateway to follow. Of course none of these customers will allow AMD to sell any more chips but they do ensure that AMD will have customers for their chips as they continue to expand production.

Now IBM, Compaq and Toshiba all market leaders, offer AMD based systems for their business customers. This is new and I like it.

It also seems like that AMD is regaining some market share in retail. Recently it seems that the majority of the ads in a local computer super store is for AMD desktops and note books. Another positive is that ASP should not deteriorate at nearly the pace of last quarter. In their CC Intel did say that they do not plan to cut the prices on PII much any more.
