Jim,

I agree with your opinions, even though you don't back them up with any factual data. Nonetheless, I agree that logic would strongly suggest that demand will rise as cost are lowered.

With all the advances in chips and bandwidth, I am convinced that "you ain't seen nothing yet" (old BTO quote).

But then, I have nothing factual to back my opinions either.

Really long GBLX.

Regards,

FWIW Here is a note on Colt which appeared in the WSJ yesterday. Europe, 300 million consumers, is connected, and getting more so. We all have friends and loved ones over there/here.

Colt Telecom Starts German Inter-City Network

LONDON (Dow Jones)--Colt Telecom PLC (COLTY) said Thursday it has started construction of its 2,600 kilometer inter-city network in Germany.

It has appointed RAB, a subsidiary of civil engineering Koop Group, as the prime contractor to build the network.

Colt expects the network to operational by mid-2000 and will link its local networks in Berlin, Cologne, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Munich and Stuttgart.

------------------

Colt has lots of fiber and metropolitan networks already up and running and is winning cities day by day. It is biting the local telco's in the ass in a way that no US CLEC has managed to do. Check out its share price. I'm very happy. These guys have managed to build a CLEC and a IXC all over the old world and are a reason why GBLX will be getting traffic, as GBLX is a reason COLT will be getting traffic.
