George--- Since I am not privy to special sources, but read the same array that are available to most people, I cannot comment intelligently on Mr. Mladinov's comments, beyond saying that to the best of my knowledge, no one has denied that there have been atrocity on several sides. The assertion has merely been that it has been the Serbian determination to create a Greater Serbia that has driven most of the conflict, and that the Bosnian Serbs, aided by the Serbian government, were the worst offenders in the commission of atrocities, and I continue to believe that that is true. The fact that the Serbian partisans were anti- Nazi has more to do with the fact that Hitler turned on the Soviet Union than anything else, in my view, and the fact that the Nazis were able to recruit from among the non- Serbian subject populations of Yugoslavia has more to do with grievances they had developed against the Serbian monarchy, and the manipulation of their national aspirations, than any great understanding of Nazi ideology. In any event, I find it difficult to choose between fascists and communists, both of whom collaborated with the Nazis when it suited them...
