Anatoly,

All NYSE limit orders between the spread that I have placed have been represented on the NYSE. Market orders are sometimes executed off the NYSE directly by Datek's third party. It would seem that the same might extend to marketable limit orders, that is the the third party could execute directly if they wish to at the market price. However I sometimes get price improvement on these marketable limit orders, so either they are going to the exchange, or the third party is doing a commendable job executing at the best price available.
