CNBS reported that a broker downgraded some oil companies today; I think they mentioned XON. The reason for oils being strong in Europe, I think, is Repsol's bid for YPF.

Core Laboratories Earns $0.03 in Q1 1999 Before Charges

HOUSTON, April 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Core Laboratories (NYSE: CLB - news) announced today that its continuing operations earned $0.03 per diluted share for the first quarter of 1999 before charges. In the first quarter a year ago Core reported net income of $0.13 per diluted share.

Am I the only one who is amused that there is so much argument on the thread over who is making more money? I just figured that after the last year or so everyone here would just be happy seeing the stocks go up. More importantly, does anyone really know or care whether someone else is making a few dollars more or less than they are?
