Remember Reed Hundt, the former chairman of the FCC? He popped up again last week when he was named to the board of Phone. com, an Internet telephony software company. Hundt, who's an advisor on the IT industry to McKinsey & Co., also sits on the boards of Allegiance Telecom, Ascend Communications, NorthPoint Communications, and Novell. He also seems to put his money where his mouth is. According to Securities and Exchange Commission filings, Hundt bought 2,000 shares of Novell stock last month, at $19.56 each. Last week, Novell stock was trading around $25 techweb.com
