i think biz deteriorates for the chip makers and then the orders get cut for the equipment types. they all fall, and fall real hard. when everyone says dram is the worst place to be and mu trades REALLY low... give it 6-12 months then we turn for real. who's left? i don't know.

short term stock movements? i can't predict. this stock went to $80 on the force of 12 cents qtly eps. anything can happen.

... DRAM makers go pedal to the metal and order equipment?

They have already begun. The 1st of March had a lead time of almost 0 for the new ASLM Steppers now they are out two months. KLA, same thing for their new inspection stations.

This is going to be the fish or cut bait version of DRAMs. I do not think anyone will remain untouched by this. Summer should be a good time to get that 512 Meg RAM you always wanted.
