After paying my taxes, I am not wealthy enough to live in a gated community. I am down in the dirt with all the rest of us. Is it only liberals who see the realities of the underclass? How much money did you give to the underclass last year? As much as I did?

Is it true that churches and charities can't take care of the underclass? Why not? Once upon a time, they could. Could it be that after paying for a government bureaucracy, one's tax dollars are stretched rather thin?

Christine,
It's my belief that government has taken issues and used them to grow the government first, and only help the people after they have "helped themselves" to a healthy portion of our wallets. The democrats have taken the issues of the minorities because IMO they give them a platform to run on. It's just a game that maybe some believe in, but I don't. The democrats were pro-slavery before the civil war so they have historically made a complete about face. If they didn't have the minority issues in there camp, they would cease to exists today. It's not compassion, it's exploitation for survival.
