Recently Azerbaijan persecuted and forced out all Armenians from Baku, Azerbaijan and surrounding areas....: This had nothing to do with liebensraum. There has been a long standing territorial conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Here's a pretty disturbing article by renowned French philosopher Jean Baudrillard in French daily Liberation:

As far as Europe being overpopulated, I'd mitigate your remark: demographic trends show that the native European populace is declining --especially in Germany which has a very low birth rate.

Douglas,

Azerbijan re-acted to the ethnic cleansing by the Armenians in Nagorno-Karabagh. These two ethnic groups have been at each other throat for better part of this century! Again, sometimes I wish there was still a Soviet Union, or a central power that could keep them from killing each other.

There are people who really don't deserve independence, beacause they
have always been part of something else! Basques in Spain have always been under Spain and France. Azeri's were part of Iran until Treaties of Kara-Chay and Gulestan gave Baku, Nuka, Shirvan, Talesh and Darbent to Russians in 1813.

Armenia and Gerogia were kingdoms that during the history have always been protectrate of somebody ealse, Romans, Byzentines, Persians, Ottoman, Russians, and Soviets! All in a sudden give these people independence and they start raisng hell!
