[Nextlink cut to hold by Jefferies]

LOS ANGELES, April 30 (Reuters) - Jefferies & Co Inc on Friday cut its rating on shares of Nextlink Communications Inc to hold from accumulate based on the stock's price.

-- shares were up 2-1/4 to 73-1/8 by midday, and have shot up from a closing price of 53-5/16 on April 20.

-- says believes the company's management "is one of the single best" teams among its competitors, but "we can no longer suggest to our clients that at this price it is attractive for purchase"

-- targets the stock price at $60.
