Let's let any differences just fade. They will. Both scanshift and Anthony have been through terrific emotional hardships. Both are being helpful to our group. They are both heroes, but we don't know what all they've gone through. I talked to scanshift last night and got good suggestions about what we should send with our 2 volunteers to Skopje. He knows Eddie at the tv station and told me it is crucial to keep TVERA going. I wrote Eddie - here is part of his reply: Dear Mrs. Thommas Yes,you could say that we need tapes but I don't think that they'll do us any good since it's the problem of the USA standard that differs from ours. Now about the hardware, I quite agree with Fane because of the prices here. They are too high and we do seem to have a cash problem and have needs for, not just hardware but computers as well. The fastest computer that we are using here is a Pentium 166 MMX with a HDD of 1.7 GB, 32 MB RAM and it's only got left 130 MB on the HDD and the other computers (2 of them) are 486-s. If you could get us a laptop that'd be great because most of the work with registering the refugees around here is done by handwrite. We have modem problems as well since we have an ISDN line being installed and our modem is 28800 bps. Anything else that you could help us with would mean a great help to us (a sound card would make all this work seem less tiring and we have got lots of work around). About the tools I think that we can handle that problem pretty easily (there are enough tools around here). I think that what you're doing is really great. Wish you luck and all the best Eddie P.S. I apologize if there's any mistake on my written English and in the behalf of "Mother Theresa" thank you again At 20:56 4/29/99 PDT, you wrote: >Dear Edmond ("Eddie"?) > >I talked with Fane Lozeman by phone tonight. We'll probably try for a minimum of one laptop. Anyone wanting to help gets a paper crown. Let us know at: K_refugees@hotmail.com Thanks, Raven
