(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 5, 1999--EAT AT JOE'S, LTD. (OTC
BB:JOES;BERLIN:JOS), a diversified food service company that owns the
Eat at Joe's chain of 1950s-style diners in the Northeastern US and
holds an exclusive license to develop and manage Koo Koo Roo
restaurants in Canada, announced today that Eat at Joe's President and
Chief Operating Officer Gino Naldini will be one of the featured
guests on World Business Review, an internationally broadcast TV
series hosted by Caspar Weinberger, Chairman of Forbes Magazine and
onetime Secretary of Defense under President Ronald Reagan.
Also participating in the broadcast will be a panel that includes
another expert in the restaurant industry.
The show featuring Mr. Naldini is scheduled to be taped live in
Washington, DC on Wednesday, May 12, and will be broadcast at a later
date to be announced.
Naldini, a nationally-known entrepreneur with more than 30 years
as a successful restaurant and hospitality industry executive, will
discuss Eat at Joe's, Ltd. in a seven-minute, one-to-one interview
with Secretary Weinberger. The program will air on CNBC (as paid
programming); Public Television; PBS The Business Channel; Knowledge
TV; America's Voice; and other television outlets that reach a
potential audience of 70 million TV households in 50 major US markets
and more than 100 million people worldwide.
World Business Review is also accessible from the World Business
Review interactive website WBRTV.com; to passengers on United Airlines
and TWA flights; and to more than 1,800 US universities.
Gino Naldini has held senior executive positions with CARA
Operations, operator of more than 400 restaurants including such
chains as the Swiss Chalet, the leading chicken rotisserie restaurant
in Canada, and Harvey's, the second largest hamburger chain in Canada.
Eat at Joe's opened its first restaurants at the end of 1997, and
achieved overall operating profitability a year later. Its restaurants
serve home-cooked American meals at diner-style restaurants in
southern New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Baltimore, Maryland. There are
currently eight units in operation and two under construction. The
Company has also signed a letter of intent to acquire a 16-unit
regional restaurant chain and plans to operate five Koo Koo Roo
restaurants in Canada by the end of 1999 under its recently signed
20-year exclusive license agreement with Koo Koo Roo Enterprises.
