While I have speculating the possible relationship with IBM could include the Micro Drive, I am a little hesitant at this time to conclude that this is very likely. The IBM drive is still way too expensive for a portable which includes it to be price competitive. This does not exclude the use of the micro drive in a home version. It could be possible that the micro drive be used in a home deck version of the portable player so that you can easily transfer music to & from the HD w/out having to have the home deck networked to your computer (for many, their primary stereo is no where near their PC). Alternatively, Lucent could try to release a premium portable that contains the micro drive. Given this, the micro drive would constitute the storage for only a limited quantity of Lucent/EDIG's device with the majority using flash.
