My personal response as a libertarian is that I have a responsibility to understand the history before I mouth off, to figure out how to get there from here. I realize that you do. My point is that you are very much in the minority here; and that since very few people understand these problems or are aware that they exist, we can hardly expect voluntary contributions to alleviate them or compensate for them. My feeling is that government sucks because too many people expect government to think for them, instead of realizing that they have to think for it. Is the answer better government, less government, or both?
