<<I think those who have traded out of their favorite OS stocks in the last couple of days have completely missed what's going on.>>

Beg to differ. This really depends on which stock you have. In case of UTI, maybe others, you are right. But in case of FGI, trader was better off. I bought at 15, sold on Wed. close to 18, bought it back on Thur. at 17 and sold at 19.75. I think Monday will have another opportunity to buy it around 17, if not lower. This kind short-squeezed, or mo mo-supported rally will not last. Of course, just IMO. Disagreement does not bother me. And people have their own investment strategy. TO each his own. My strategy made me sold all the oil stocks in Oct. 1997 at their high, and this works fine for me. Better save than sorry.

Okay Michael H - time for another reality check - (VBG)/

Just call me ''Missouri'' here - gotta show me:

You guys just can't keep throwing out all of those blasse ''euphemisms'' . ''some'' of us KNOW - where the OSX is - is it not 2 points lower than it was 10-12 days ago ? Euphoria and cheerleading is one thing - but not being grounded in reality is another !

Michael H; dont' make the mistake - of seizing this obvious ''pililing on'' - "Dutch Pile'' window of opportunity - to take more rope than you can handle (VBG).

You've had a couple of great ideas here of late, using stops, 3rd tier stocks etc. You just need to remember, some of us owned these 3rd tier stocks months ago - and we just sold at the ''high'' - locking in tremendous gains. We have the CASH and we didn't buy the highs - seems to be some confusion, or some open debate to - ''buying low and selling high'' versus ''buying high and ? selling low ?'' ...also, remember - if these guys are all buying and holding - how can they buy TCMS here for a little ''pop''' - what did they sell to raise the cash ?

Also, do we ''REALLY" want to do our cheering when we see ''paper'' profits for the 6th time in 8 months - or, should we ''REALLY" be cheering when we cash in these incredible gains ! - people; I must be from Mars or something ? From where I come from - we don't cheer the score at half time - we don't start celebrating when we have an 0-2 count on Mark McGwire.... where I come from - the ''ONLY" time cheering counts - is when you see the money - and those gains ''locked in'' and in the cash side of your brokerage statements ?!?!?

So, color me the Black Bart of Gloom & Doom - if I continue to not get so excited about ''paper profits'' and do get a little exicted on cashing the ''real'' ones in !

<< I think those who have traded out of their favorite OS stocks in the last couple of days have completely missed what's going on. Oil is over $18.50 a barrel. I strongly suggest folks load up 5 or 6 of their favorite OS stocks on simultaneous chart windows and flip back and forth between them>>

Mike - you, or I are neither right, or wrong yet - only the future will let us know ... again; you guys had better hope those E-Waves aren't correct, better hope that $18 Oil and the known fact of strong initial OPEC compliance, isn't fully factored into prices here !

Also - another reality check here people. OSX 77 here. A 25% move requires us to move to OSX 100. Now do you feel you are more likely to make a 25% move in holding the OSX , or in picking off these incredible trading opportunities ? - a rhetorical question - that will only be answered by the passage of time.

Mike; I'll stand by my not only being ''right'' by taking profits here - but by my exceeding the OSX's gains over the same timeframe by an exponential degree... I'll continue to support my strategies with charts, graphs, names & numbers and not just general euphemisms.. plus; we will hold your ''electronic'' hand to the fire here going forward (VBG) in a good spirited way ! ...as buying these stocks ''here'' at the euphoric ''tops'' - is certainly a ''Mo-Mo'' move and no longer an ''easy money'' value play.

Only time will tell - but, Michael; do NOT confuse rotating into stocks like CRK & TMR (all sold) and taking profits on stocks like CRK as it continually marches forward blowing away the simultaneous OSX move - as missing ANYTHING ! - I wish I could just show the chart for the last ''few days'' in compariison.... here is the 20 day chart - shortest timeframe available - the timeframe in question is April 16th on... that's where we intitally popped OSX 70 to 77.

techstocks.com

I wouldn't be doing my job as the self appointed ''Black Bart'' of the SD thread if I didn't do my best to point out reality here. You can NOT just throw out this blatant Bull$h!^ like Baby Bulls comment below and not get a ''reality check'' response from me...

<< <<Buy the dips sell the rallies just failed in the most spectacular way imaginable! >>

... and you know Bull; we all deserve a more mature response than you --''you're right - I'm wrong'' .... show me the facts - charts, stats and not just this Pom-Pom drivel ! ... still waiting by the way. - are we not still 2 points lower than where ''some'' of us sold into this pop ? - bottomline, if we blew through OSX 105 here and the ''rotation'' idea into E&P micro caps failed - I'd be the first to congratulate you - but unfortunately ''reality'' still exists (VBG) !

By taking profits at what has still proven to be the ''top'' - ''some'' of us actually have the cash to take advantage of the ideas Michael H is espousing - what are you Buy & Hold guys doing - borrowing money from the Government ? - endless stream of cash (VBG)... surely, you're not really ''CT's" now are you....?

I am as happy as the next guy when the OSX goes up; I still own RIG PGO FLC , a little HOFF and I have some shares of most components in my non-trading acccount from many of the 4-peat OSX 45 days (VBG). However - there are still too many opportunities to exceed the OSX nearterm returns and unquestionably the buy and hold mentality returns.

To argue that this once in a decade volatility enviroment is NOT the time to trade - is beyond sane discussion. What more could any trader ask for than 4 ranges of OSX 45- 72 , the Jan tax loss seeling-rebuying pop, the one month 50% run in March and all of the incredible short term trading opportunities in individual stocks of late !

...not even a sane arguement imho.

.... again; time for 3 Hail Mary's and a couple of ''our Fathers'' on those E-Waves not continuing to be correct (VBG) !

PS - michael happel; I am not discounting your trading here; you are a ''trader'' and your arguement here is not the same of the Pom-Pom squad. Your trading track record speaks for itself . I follow many of your tech stock thoughts - when I get bored with all of this CASH and want to park it in some tech rotation - as I did a while back of late... good luck and lets's keep trading 'em !
