Don't forget ATHM already has the lions share of the business. If this were to happen T could retaliate and make a big push with ATHM. ... They love monopolies that do not look like monopolies, thus ATHM/RR.

Except -- as we discussed at length a few days ago -- ATHM + RR looks very much like a monopoly. It would look even more like a monopoly if Microsoft controlled a significant portion of it, as it would in this kind of arrangement. (Comcast would no doubt keep tight control of the cable properties while Microsoft took over management of the internet access properties.)

And yes. ATHM is bigger now, but some of these merger plays threaten that reach. Without Comcast, it reaches fewer homes. Facing off against a revitalized RoadRunner, it would be threatened with losing even more.

These are risks we all have to be aware of as we consider the short term movement of the stock.
