Compuware Ships Internet Testing Solution
QACenter Provides Comprehensive Regression, Functional and Load Testing for E-Commerce
FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., April 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Compuware Corporation (Nasdaq: CPWR - news) today announced a new version of QARun, the automated functional and regression testing tool in its QACenter line of automated software quality products and services. The product features testing functions required by companies developing, shipping or maintaining business- critical web, Internet or e-commerce applications. Among others, the product features testing capabilities for HTML, Java, ActiveX, Oracle Internet applications and SAP R/3 Version 4.0. This release, combined with the existing web load testing capabilities of QALoad, provides customers with a comprehensive web and e-commerce testing solution.

''QACenter impressed us in a number of ways,'' said Harold Moss, quality assurance manager at Sensitech, a leading supplier of enterprise-wide solutions for perishables product management based in Beverly, Massachusetts. ''First, there is a very short learning curve and minimal uptime challenges. We are able to get our testers trained and testing much quicker than we anticipated. The other thing that impressed us was the lack of maintenance hindrances. If I make a change to my application, it is very easy to update the test procedures.''

''We are responsible for ensuring that our clients have bulletproof, highly available, and high quality web sites to ensure that their e-commerce businesses flourish,'' said Michael Marquardt, president of Internet Operations Center, Inc. (IOC), a web hosting and full-service Internet Solutions Provider based in Southfield, Michigan. ''QACenter products allow us to fully test our web applications and e-commerce sites to ensure that they perform and scale as required.''

''The nature of testing Internet applications and e-commerce systems requires test automation,'' said Billie Shea, senior analyst for the Newport Group in Barnstable, MA. ''Further still, the voice for building automated testing into the development process earlier has grown louder as organizations have learned the hard way about the perils associated with poor application design, development and deployment.''

''As companies apply e-commerce strategies and, in some cases, reinvent themselves to maximize the e-commerce models, the systems that will run these Internet processes need to be catered to help ensure efficient, responsive and effective systems and software,'' said Doug Turner, General Manager for QACenter. ''The adage 'your competitor is only a click away' has never been truer than now. Slow response times, poor implementation and confusing web sites are no longer acceptable. Functional and load testing are of the utmost importance when deploying e-commerce systems.''
